Phanerochaete sanguinea is a species of shelf fungi.[1]

Description

P. sanguinea is often found as orange or red stained wood, frequently on decaying conifer wood such as spruce. The stain can present as spots as well as staining entire sections of wood. The mycelium causing the staining also appears to fluoresce under UV light.[2]

Range

P. sanguinea has been found in North America, Brazil, and Europe.
