The Republic of India guarantees the freedom of religion but the atheists are being persecuted.

Discrimination in census report

[edit]

Atheists are not being counted in the population census taken by the government of India thus the government forces them to choose one of the religion.

Discrimination in education

[edit]

The atheists who are counted as Hindus in the census must submit the caste certificates to the schools during the time of admission. The atheists are affected by the caste and religion based reservation system in India.
