POLAIR Queensland is the name of the aviation department within the Queensland Police Service (QPS), QPS aviation operations is officially under the umbrella of the Aviation Capability Group.
The QPS operates numerous Fixed Wing, Rotary & UAV assets spread across various locations around the state of Queensland.
The majority of aircraft of the POLAIR fleet are hidden from view on most publicly accessible flight tracking apps & websites. This is to preserve investigations, ensure the safety of the crew & aircraft, allow for covert operations and to prevent suspects from viewing locations of the aircraft.
Fixed Wing Fleet
[edit]QPS operates a varying fleet of aircraft both single and twin engine for numerous tasks such as; organ retrievals, SERT & tactical operator response, prisoner transport, disaster response, aerial surveillance, search & rescue, transporting police officers & senior QPS leadership, transporting QLD Government ministers & other politicians, and transporting freight.
Not all the aircraft feature the QPS POLAIR livery & identifications which suggest they are police aircraft.

A Bell 429 flight simulator is located at the SLSQ helicopter base at Archerfield, it is used by pilots & tactical flight operators for training purposes.[1]
The aircraft are fitted with high end infrared electro optical cameras, a spotlight, Blue & red flashing lights, public address speakers, video downlink, secure radio's, and basic rescue/first aid equipment.
All the aircraft in the fleet are twin engine only, as this is a crucial safety feature for flying over populated areas.
