Oleksandr Ivanovich Suprunenko is a Ukrainian businessman and former politician, known for his role as a major shareholder of ASVIO BANK, Kyiv Hlib, and owner of the asset management company ASVIO. He served as a People's Deputy of Ukraine in the VI and VIII convocations. Suprunenko was first elected as a deputy from the Party of Regions and later ran as an independent candidate in the majoritarian constituency No. 216.
Biography
[edit]Oleksandr Suprunenko was born on January 17, 1976, in Kyiv. He studied at the Kyiv Civil Engineering Technical School of Transport Engineering from 1986 to 1990. In 2002, he graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, specializing in law and earning the qualification of a lawyer.
Career
[edit]Suprunenko began his career with military service from 1990 to 1992. Afterward, he held several positions in business, starting as Deputy General Director of "Barrier" LLC from 1992 to 1994, and later serving as a legal advisor and marketing consultant for various companies. In 2007, he became a People's Deputy of Ukraine, representing the Party of Regions. He continued to serve in various political roles, including as a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee, until 2012.
In 2014, Suprunenko returned to local politics as a deputy in the Kyiv City Council. As of 2019, he has focused on his business ventures, including ASVIO BANK and other real estate interests in Europe.
Family
[edit]Oleksandr Suprunenko is married to Olena Leonidivna (born in 1973). They have three children: daughters Oleksandra (born in 2000) and Liia (born in 2002), and a son named Ivan (born in 2009). Oleksandra is a world-famous model, while Liia is a student at New York University (NYU). Ivan is currently studying at H-FARM International School in Italy.
Controversy
[edit]His brother, Viacheslav Suprunenko, was involved in a property dispute in 2005 that led to a robbery charge. Viacheslav was wanted by Interpol until 2015 but was later cleared of the charges. Despite these controversies, Oleksandr Suprunenko remained active in business and politics.
