Nunuk Suryani (born November 8, 1966) is the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology from 2023–present. She previously served as Secretary of the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. She held this position starting June 4, 2020 before being appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim to serve as Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel replacing Iwan Syahril, starting from February 22, 2023.[5]
Education
[edit]Nunuk completed his undergraduate education in the field of "Indonesian History" at Diponegoro University in 1989. Then, she took a Master of Education degree in the field of "History Education" at State University of Jakarta in 1997. She continued her Doctoral degree (S3) in the field of "Educational Technology ” at Jakarta State University in 2003.
Career
[edit]From 2017 to 2020, Nunuk was Head of the Institute for Development and Empowerment of School Principals (LPPKS) of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology. At the same time, she was also trusted as Head of the Education Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPMP) at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) from 2019 until June 2020.[6] And in 2020, she received the mandate as Secretary of the Directorate General of GTK, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, and for eight months served concurrently as Acting Director General of GTK,[7] before officially serving as the Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology starting from February 22, 2023, until now.[8]
Before pursuing a career in Jakarta, since 1990, Nunuk has been noted as a lecturer in the Department of History Education, FKIP UNS and developed into a lecturer for Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in the fields of History Education, Educational Technology and Educational Sciences. She is also listed as a lecturer at IAIN Surakarta in the fields of Economic Education and Islamic Education Management.[9]
Since April 19, 2016, she officially became the 177th Professor at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) and the 55th Professor at FKIP UNS with a scientific oration entitled "Utilization of Digital Media to Improve the Quality and Attractiveness of History Learning (Bahasa Indonesia: Pemanfaatan Media Digital untuk meningkatkan Kualitas dan Daya Tarik Pembelajaran Sejarah)".[10]

Achievement
[edit]- Teachers and Education Personnel's Arrangement: Completion of the appointment of honorary teachers through the ASN PPPK selection mechanism which will continue to be implemented both in 2024 and 2025 and beyond, until all honorary staffs are appointed as ASN PPPK. The Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel has also appealed not to allow schools to appoint new honoraries. This is an effort to organize teachers and education personnel more evenly and support for teachers and education personnel prosperity.[12] Until 2023, 774.999 teachers have become ASN PPPK teachers.[13]

Private Life
[edit]Nunuk is married to Ir. Hari Wibowo Adi in 1992 and they have a daughter, namely Retno Astuty Nuvitasari.[16]
