Niranjan BS is an Indian film and television actor who predominantly works in Kannada and Telugu television industry and also acted in a couple of Kannada movies. He is well known for enacting the roles of Rishi in Kamali and Yash in Ennenno Janmala Bandham.
Birth and Family
[edit]Niranjan BS was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka.[1] His father owned a catering business and his mother worked as a teacher.[1]
Education and Early Life
[edit]Niranjan graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Business Management (BBM).[1] He was avidly into sports and was a state-level volleyball player besides being a kabaddi and swimming athlete.[2] Even while schooling, his ambition was to serve in the Indian Army. He served for over 8 years in National Cadet Corps (NCC) and reached the level of senior under officer, but he met with an accident and sustained a ligament tear, due to which he could not pursue his armed forces ambition.[1]
Early Career, Short Films and Movies
[edit]Niranjan initially tried radio- and later video jockeying but found neither to suit his interests. He then worked in short films, one of which was Sri Ramachandra[3] which earned him the opportunity to work in his debut film, Vascodigama. He also acted in Masterpiece which starred Yash.[1]
Television Career
[edit]Later Niranjan got the opportunity to work in television serials, starting with Kannada serial Gandhari[4] in 2015, which was telecast in Colors Kannada. His second project was Nandini[1] which was a Tamil-Kannada bilingual but telecast in all four South Indian languages and paved the way for his third project, Azhagu, a Tamil serial that was telecast in Sun TV in 2017. He later had to quit the serial in 2018 in order to work in Kamali,[5] his fourth serial, telecast in Zee Kannada,[6] which was his first lead role and hence demanded the bulk of his time. His role as the college professor, Rishi[2], in it earned him a lot of accolades and awards and proved to be the turning point in his career. Even while acting in it, he got his fifth serial and debut Telugu opportunity of Enneno Janmala Bandham in 2021, telecast in Star Maa.[7] He played the role of Yash, a businessman, which became the next milestone in his career, earning him yet again rewards and recognition. Currently he is working on his sixth serial, Satyabhama, being telecast in Star Maa.[8]
Participation in Social Causes
[edit]Niranjan participated as a celebrity guest in Run for Flood Relief 5K Marathon Run, organized by Sumukha Events on September 15, 2019, in Bengaluru for the purpose of contributing to the Uttara Karnataka Flood Relief Fund.[9][10] Niranjan also participated as a special invitee in the Physio Walkathon and Physio Cycle event held on September 15, 2019, in Bengaluru to commemorate World Physical Therapy Day 2019 and also to raise awareness on Fit India Movement, which was organized by Bangalore Physiotherapists Network.[11][12]
