  • Comment: Once again, this has been rejected already, and there is still nothing in this draft that would in any way suggest that rejection wasn't warranted. DoubleGrazing (talk) 19:17, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: There are no citations. You need reliable sources that back up the assertions that the "rumours" are in fact newsworthy (e.g., reported in the mainstream media) MarcGarver (talk) 08:13, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

The successor to the Nintendo Switch is an upcoming video game console, slated to be announced in early 2025. The console is preceded by the highly successful Nintendo Switch. The console has been subject to much speculation in anticipation of its release.[2]

Development and pre-release

[edit]

President of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its release date, which will be before the end of the Fiscal year of 2025 (March 2025), Furukawa also announced it will be backward compatible with Nintendo Switch Games and will have the Nintendo Switch Online Subscription.[3] The Joy-Cons will also have magnets that will attach to the console directly[citation needed] and the interface will have the same font as the PlayStation Portal[4]. According to the Economic Daily News, a Taiwanese newspaper, the Console was reported to have 2 different screens, similar to a Nintendo DS, as well as potentially having an NPU for AI capabilities. The console was also reported as being priced at $399. [5]

The console will be the 9th home console released by Nintendo and the 8th handheld console released by Nintendo since it's entry into the industry in 1977 with the Color TV-Game.
