Nalamaru Chandra Sekhar Reddy

Nalamaru Chandra Sekhar Reddy (born 10 December, 1961), is an Indian politician currently associated with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He served as the Andhra Pradesh state government advisor on employees welfare from 2021 to 2024. He is known for championing the rights and needs of government employees of Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy was a leader of the largest state government employees union in India. He was unanimously appointed as the President of Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association on 13 January, 2019. He has served as the chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee of state government employees and as the deputy chairperson of the All India State Government Employees Federation.

After the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, Y S Jagan, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh appointed him as the state government advisor for Employees Welfare.

Biography

Chandra Sekhar Reddy was born in Ketharajupalli village in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Reddy married Vijaya in 1991. The couple has has a son and a daughter.

Career

Reddy first started working as a superintendent in the Hyderabad office of Andhra Pradesh Jail Department in 1990. He started working to champion employee rights and benefits since 1995.

Reddy had worked with various employee associations for benefits of state government employees. Post retirement from his government job, he joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) as an advisor.

On 5 June 2024, Reddy has tendered his resignation to the position after his party lost the elections.
