Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu 孫逸仙 is an Entrepreneur, Business Management Professional, and Civil Activist deeply engaged in socio-political and economic issues. In 2023, he was a candidate in the Hong Kong Patriot-only District Council election, underscoring his dedication to prioritizing Hong Kong’s interests. Dr. Islam continues to serve the Hong Kong government with unwavering commitment following his election pursuits. He holds positions as a Yau Tsim Mong South Area Committee Member and a Yau Tsim Mong Yau Ma Tei South Care Team Member in the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Born on 20 July 1977 into a Muslim family in Bangladesh, Dr. Islam has an impressive academic background. He graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and furthered his education with a Master’s and Doctorate in International Trade. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found several organizations: he is the current General Secretary of the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center – CBFC 中孟友好中心, the founder of the Asian Club Limited 亞會有限公司 in Hong Kong, and the founder of the Dr. Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Foundation, a charity dedicated to aiding distressed people in Bangladesh.
Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu's service commitment extends to his Rotary International involvement. He is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Dhaka Orchid of RID 3281, Bangladesh, and currently a Director and member of the Kowloon Golden Mile Rotary Club, RID 3450, Hong Kong. From 2015 to 2021, he served Rotary International as a TRF cadre of Technical Advisers. Additionally, he is a Life Member of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and serves as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Awami League, Hong Kong.
With a natural propensity for therapeutic communication, Dr. Islam enjoys helping people and teaching them how to protect themselves and navigate complex systems. He is dedicated to assisting individuals to progress, consulting on benefits, and aiding them in realizing their dreams. Over the past twenty years, he has worked extensively with oppressed and underprivileged communities, the distressed, and orphans. Before establishing his own business, he gained valuable experience in various multinational organizations. Dr. Islam is known for his flexibility in both personal and professional spheres.
A visionary, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu, proposed the new “Three Principles of the People,” focusing on ethnic harmony, public opinion at the root, and people’s livelihood as the foundation. 他提出了新的“三民主義”,分別為民族共融、民意為根及民生為本。
Initially from Bangladesh, Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu accepted Chinese citizenship and adopted the name 孫逸仙 (Sun Yat-sen). He currently resides in Hong Kong as a naturalized Chinese citizen. His English legal name is ISLAM, Muhammad Fakhrul, and his Chinese legal name is 孫逸仙 (Sun Yat-sen). He is commonly known as Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu 孫逸仙.
Muhammad Fakhrul Islam Babu is blessed with two sons. His elder son, Master ISLAM Muhammad Tazimul 孫塔吉姆, is a Secondary One student at a local college in Hong Kong, while his younger son, Master ISLAM Muhammad Latiful 孫洛褅福, is in Primary Five at a local school in Hong Kong.
