- Comment: We need to see what completely independent secondary sources have said about this, not what the resort itself wants to say. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:04, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
Mt. Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area is a recreational complex near Bayfield, Wisconsin. The place offers 65 acres of downhill skiing as well as 40 km of cross country skiing. The complex is notable for hosting Big Top Chautauqua. Mt. Ashwabay also has several on site amenities.[1] [2] [3]
History
[edit]Mt. Ashwabay was founded in 1948. It was named Mt. Ashwabay because it served the Ashland, Bayfield, and Washburn areas. Originally an alpine slope, it added Nordic trails in the 1970s. In 2002, the business became a non-profit organization. Today Mt. Ashwabay has expanded to become a year round destination, offering concerts and mountain biking in the summer. Added activities include winter fat tire biking, hiking, skijoring, snowshoeing, and more.[4] [5] [6] [7]
