Michael Angelo Massa J.D (born in 1958) is an arbitrator, mediator, writer, and educator with over 40 years of experience in law, public service, and writing.[1][2] Massa is a graduate of Ohio University[1] and Capital University Law School. He is also known for his contributions to legal mediation[2], children’s literature, and education, blending creativity with professional expertise.[2]

Early life and education

Massa was born and raised in Ohio. He is the eldest of four children with roots in Italy and Argentina. Massa studied Interpersonal Communications at Ohio University and later earned his Juris Doctor degree from Capital University Law School in 1992. He is admitted to practice before several National Tribal Courts, and a is member of the European Courts of Mediation. Massa has also completed doctoral coursework in Clinical Psychology at Cal Southern University. as well as Advanced Advocacy studies at Villanova University, in conjunction with the U.S. Dept of Justice.

In 2023, he was awarded the “Dottore” (Doctor of Laws) designation by a certifying body of the European Union.

Career

Massa began his 40-year career in public and private service, where he began as a department Liaison Officer and developed the State of Ohio’s first system of Travel Information Centers in 1984. He later became a Legal Marketing Representative for West Legal Publishers, serving across the U.S.

Additionally, he has been an adjunct college professor and lecturer at Ohio Dominican and Park Universities, and has contributed to national publications such as The Hill, USA Today, Patheos, and The Columbus Dispatch.

His writing covers modern issues, religion, children’s literature, (“The Boy Who Stopped Time”, Mirror Publishing, Feb. 2016)[3], and producing award-winning education concepts.[4]

Personal life

Massa holds dual U.S. and European Union citizenship (Italy) and currently resides in Powell, Ohio.
