Media Press Group is a metadata and technological solutions supplier for TV operators, VOD services, broadcasters and magazine publishers, as well as internet and media service providers.

History

In 1988, Media Press Group was established as an IT company, providing editorial systems for Swiss publishers.[1]

In November 19, 2014, Media Press Group joins the Entertainment ID Registry (EIDR) - a coalition promoting the use of a unique, global identifier of entertainment assets including films and television episodes.[2]

In 2016, Media Press Group participates in the establishment of European Metadata Group, as a founding partner.[3][4][5] The European Metadata Group represents the leading suppliers of metadata and editorial services for the entertainment industry in Europe.

In 2018, Media Press Group launches Media Press US, Inc.[6][7] Media Press US operates in Wayne, Pennsylvania and provides advanced metadata services to international and North American-based customers.

In 2019, Media Press Group acquires Plurimedia, France.[8][9][10][11] Plurimedia is a provider of TV metadata and editorial services, specialized in TV, cinema, lifestyle and entertainment opreating in France.[12]

In 2019, M7 Group selected Media Press Group as a single TV metadata-provider for all M7 video operations in Europe.[13]

In 2023, Redge Technologies enters into a partnership with Media Press Group.[14][15] The combined initiative aims to provide Redge Media’s end-users with an enhanced content discovery experience, making it easier to find engaging content, whether it’s available on-demand or via live streaming.

In 2023, Media Press Group expands its operation in Turkey, with the formation of a new company based in Istanbul.[16] Media Press Turkey is part of the group’s pan-European network, which employs teams of locally hired editors and engineers to prepare, collate and enrich EPG and streaming descriptions of programs delivered to local and international clients.

In 2023, Media Press Group begins to provide metadata solutions to Magyar Telekom.[17] The EPG data is used on Magyar Telekom´s set-top boxes and online TV platform.

Also in 2023, Media Press Group became a strategic partner for an innovative sports streaming solution, developed by three companies - MediaHub, Media Press Group and Enetpulse, offering integration of real-time sports data with high quality streaming.[18][19][20][21]

In 2024, Media Press Group acquires Slovenian Metadata & Editorial services Provider - IECom.[22] This acquisition solidified Media Press Group's as aprovider of European TV service providers, streaming services, and broadcasters with metadata, technological solutions and editorial services.

In August 2024, Media Press Group unveils OpenID - management solution for entertainment metadata.[23][24][25][26]
