Jobst was then contacted by One Piece show runner Matt Owens to executive produce and direct the first two episodes of the live-action series. Owens previously worked with Jobst on the season two episode "Wig Out" of Luke Cage, and contacted him to work on the new series after being impressed by his ability to juggle the humorous and dramatic tones of the episode.[9] This made One Piece the seventh series Jobst worked on for Netflix.[10][11]
