M. P. Muthukaruppasami Kounder is from Mettuvavi, a village near Kinnathukadavu. He was the MLC from 1962 - 1967 for Kovilpalayam constituency, Tamilnadu. He was very close to Mr. Kamarajar, then Chief Minister of the State, and was called a honest politician. Mr. M. P. Muthukaruppasami Kounder had 2 sons and 2 daughters, and several grandchildren and great grand children. Notable great-grandsons are Mr.K. Sakthivel, a Doctorate from the USA and a lawyer, Mr. Ramprakash and Saranya Ravi.
