Ayotunde Micheal TundayLawal (born September 12, 1996), known professionally as Lussh, is a Nigerian record producer and songwriter.[1] He is known for production in the Afrobeats genre,[2][3] working with top artists and producing numerous songs[4] since his career began in 2016. Lussh is recognized for producing tracks like "Ohema" [5][6] by DJ Spinall featuring Mr Eazi and "Madu" by Kizz Daniel.

Early Life and Education

Ayotunde Micheal TundayLawal was born on September 12, 1996, at Iponri Estate,[7] Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. He is the first child of Ola TundayLawal, a community development worker and clergyman, and Shola Lawal, a businesswoman and caterer. Lussh began his musical journey at the age of ten, playing conga and percussion drums in his local church choir. Mentored by his uncle, he developed a passion for music.

Lussh attended Aquinas Private School for his primary education, Petraville College, and Jibril Martins Memorial Grammar School for his secondary education. He studied mass communication at Yaba College of Technology.

2016-2018: Early Career

Lussh's professional career began in 2016 with the production of DJ Spinall's single "Ohema"[8] featuring Mr. Eazi. This was followed by Seyi Shay's "Bia"[9][10] in 2017. In 2018, Lussh produced several tracks with top Nigerian music artists including "Madu"[11] and "Ayee"[12] by Kizz Daniel, "Enough For You"[13] by Dice Ailes. He also produced "Koma Roll"[14] by Seyi Shay featuring Harmonize and "Normal Level"[15] by Barry Jhay.

2019-2021: Transition to Recording Artist

In 2019, Lussh released "11/10," a collaboration with CKay and Terri. He produced songs such as "True"[16] by Mayorkun featuring Kizz Daniel and "Nana" by Peruzzi. Lussh secured production credits on Peruzzi's album "Rum & Boogie"[17] in 2021. In July 2021, he released a 4-track EP under the alias Lussh Beatz featuring Shorae, Elhi, and YungAce.

2022-Present: First EP Release

Lussh's debut single "Hello"[18] in 2022 marked his transition to a recording artist, followed by "I Dey Okay" in the same year. His first EP, "6Foot Lover Boy," released in March 2023,[19][20] received critical acclaim[3], with tracks like "Ga'damn Fine" and "Hello Refix" featuring Peruzzi.

Style and Influences

Lussh's production style blends elements of Afrobeat, Hip-hop, R&B, and Pop, genres influenced by Fela Aníkúlápó Kútì, Quincy Jones, Sarz, and Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey. His sound is characterized by catchy hooks and rhythms.
