Lucy Morillo is an American lawyer, businesswoman, and co-founder of LMA Consultants.[1],a women-owned B-Corp communications and consulting firm. She is also the co-owner and publisher of S Revista [2], a luxury lifestyle publication for Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. Throughout her career, she has made significant contributions to law, business, private equity, and the non-profit sector, engaging in notable philanthropic initiatives [3].

Early Life and Education

Lucy Morillo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Administration of Justice from Penn State University in 1991, with minors in Business Law and Italian [4]. She continued her education at Penn State, receiving a Master’s in Public Administration in 1993 [5]. In 1999, Morillo earned her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, after attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Law [6].

Career

Morillo began her legal career as the Director of Legal Affairs for FirstMark Communications International, a telecommunications startup that successfully raised over $1 billion in capital. She played a key role in expanding the company's operations across nine Latin American countries by establishing an international legal team.[7] [8].

Transitioning into the non-profit sector, Morillo served as Executive Director of Estates and Gift Planning at the University of Miami. During her tenure, she was instrumental in securing nearly $350 million for the university’s billion-dollar campaign [9]. She then became President and CEO of Miami Children's Health Foundation, where she managed $100 million in assets and led a capital campaign that secured a $60 million donation from Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, resulting in the renaming of the hospital to Nicklaus Children's Hospital [10].

In 2023, Morillo was appointed President and CEO of UrbanX [11], a subsidiary of Global Crossing Airlines Group, where she focuses on developing Urban Air Mobility (UAM) solutions [12] [13]. She continues to advocate for UAM and serves as an Advisory Board Member for UrbanLink, a South Florida-based company providing zero-emission air and sea mobility solutions [14].

Morillo holds leadership positions in various organizations, including: - President of the Florida Chapter of the International Women’s Forum (IWF)[15], a global network of over 7,500 women leaders from 33 countries [16] - Advisory Board Member for the Florida Department of Transportation Advanced Air Mobility Advisory Committee (AAMAC)[17] - Board Member of the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA)[18] - Member of the Wings Club Foundation of New York[19]

In 2016, People en Español [24] named Morillo one of the 25 Most Powerful Latina Women in the U.S. In 2024, she was recognized as one of South Florida’s Most Influential Business Women by the South Florida Business Journal [25]
