Lost in Vivo is an indie first-person survival horror video-game developed and published by Kira LLC. The game was first released on Itch.io October 12, 2018,[1] later releasing on Game Jolt on October 20, 2018,[2] and finally on Steam on November 15, 2018.[3] Lost in Vivo is "A horror game about claustrophobia."[4] The game follows an ambiguous player character who must rescue their service dog, Dani after she falls down a storm drain during a storm while the player walks her. After descending into the drain to rescue their dog, the player must navigate through rusty pipes, abandoned subways, and various other unnerving environments, ultimately getting one of 5 endings[5] depending on the actions they take.
Gameplay
[edit]The game begins with a scene where the player walks Dani on a side-walk, slowly it starts to rain more intensely until Dani falls into a storm drain, the player descends into the storm drain and must then crawl and walk through sewer tunnels, occasionally whistling to call Dani to bark, aiding the player in judging which direction they must go. Eventually finding themselves in a subway, and continuing through various other distressing areas.
The game features survival horror gameplay, managing ammunition and other items, that can be used to defend the player against enemies, and a few bosses. The game also features various Lost Tapes - which the player can use on VCRs scattered across the levels to explore surreal walking segments, the Midnight Mode, which further change the gameplay style by making the game into a dungeon crawler.
The game has many other secrets, such as the Gallery of Light[5], which is a showcase of the game's assets, and the Dark Mode[5] which is a driving simulator acting as a prequel to the events of the game.
