The Filipino girl group Bini has recorded materials for two studio albums and one extended play (EP). Although most of their songs are written by songwriters, the group members are sometimes involved in the songwriting process, with Bini member Colet writing the song "8", which was originally a graduation song she wrote during her high school years.[1]
Bini was formed in 2018 through ABS-CBN's Star Hunt Academy program, and debuted on June 11, 2024, with their debut single, "Born to Win".[2][3] Prior to their debut single, Bini released a pre-debut single titled "Da Coconut Nut", an electropop remake of the same song by Ryan Cayabyab.[4] The group performed the song on the noontime variety show It's Showtime, where it received positive reception from the audience.[5] Bini became known for their bubblegum pop sound after the release of their Feel Good album in 2022.[6] In 2023, the group released their singles "Karera" and "Pantropiko", which gained wide recognition in the Philippines in early 2024.[7] The songs were pre-release singles for their debut EP, Talaarawan, which was released on March 8, 2024, along with the lead single, "Salamin, Salamin".[8] In the same year, Bini released "Cherry on Top",[9] followed by a sped-up and a slowed + reverb version of the song. A remix version was released on October 3, 2024, in collaboration with Indonesian singer Agnez Mo.[10]
Apart from their own discography, Bini has also released songs in collaboration with other artists. In July 2022, Bini collaborated with Coca-Cola for the sixth season of Coke Studio Philippines, where they co-wrote the single, "Love Yourself", with a fan.[11] They collaborated again in October 2023 for the seventh season of Coke Studio Philippines, performing a reimagined rendition of the song, "Bata, Kaya Mo!" (Kid, You Can Do It!), with the hip-hop group, PlayerTwo.[12] Bini also collaborated with their sibling group, BGYO, in 2022 for the song, "Up!", which became the soundtrack to their documentary film.[13] They also collaborated with the boy band, SB19, releasing the single, "Kabataang Pinoy", for the teen edition of Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10.[14] The group also released recordings associated with brand endorsements, such as the release of the song, "Made for All", in September 2022 in collaboration with the cosmetic brand, Maybelline, which topped the ITunes chart in the Philippines.[15] They have also released "Gandang Vitakeratin" (Vitakeratin Beauty) in 2024 for Unilever Philippines's hair care brand, Vitakeratin.[16]
