- Trường Chinh was Indochinese Communist Party and Worker’s Party of Vietnam.
- Phạm Văn Đồng was Deputy Prime Minister of DR Vietnam.
- Nguyễn Chí Thanh was Director of the General Department of Politics of the People's Army of Vietnam.
- Hoàng Văn Thái was Chief of staff of the General Staff of the People's Army of Vietnam
- Lê Trọng Tấn was an officer of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) during 1945 to 1986.
- Văn Tiến Dũng was a PAVN commander.
- Chu Huy Mân was was a general in the People's Army of Vietnam active during the First Indochina War.
- Vương Thừa Vũ was a lieutenant-general in the People's Army of Vietnam active during World War II, the First Indochina War, He commanded Viet Minh forces in their early engagements at Hanoi in 1946, directing the city's two month-long defence against French forces. By 1949, during the Viet Minh's transition from guerrilla to regular warfare, he had risen to command the PAVN's first modern infantry division, the 308th, which he led into battle at Dien Bien Phu in 1954.

- Poc Khun was the organizer and leader of the first Khmer Issarak movement founded in 1940 to resist French colonial power in Cambodia.He also is Chairman of Khmer National Liberation Committee.
- Sơn Ngọc Minh was co-founder of the Kampuchean People's Revolutionary Party (KPRP), the predecessor to the Communist Party of Kampuchea.
- Dap Chhuon was leader of the Khmer People's Liberation Committee.
- Norodom Chantaraingsey was non-communist leaders of the Khmer Issarak, leading armed resistance in the provinces of Kompong Speu and Kompong Thom at the head of a large private militia.In 1949 he joined the Khmer National Liberation Committee, becoming its Supreme Army Chief, then from 1951 he associated himself with the forces of Son Ngoc Thanh in Siem Reap, though he continued to operate as a regional warlord, maintaining his own troops.
