Kiarash Mosayebi
[edit]Kiarash Mosayebi (Persian: کیارش مسیبی, born 1990) is an Iranian artist, theater photographer[1], film photographer[2], photojournalist and a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Theater Photographers of Iran[3]. He is the brother of the Iranian-German musician Kioomars Musayyebi.
Biography
[edit]Mosayebi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1990. Early in life, he studied music, following the tradition of his older brother, the Iranian-German musician Kioomars Musayyebi.[4] Interested in theater from a young age, Mosayebi began studying photography as a means to create and photograph stage sets, prop design, painted backdrops and lighting design. He graduated with a master's degree in Art Research from the University of Art and Architecture of Islamic Azad University.[5]
Since 2013, the themes of his artwork have focused primarily on Iranian culture, revision of the still life art tradition, and artistic renditions of environmental issues.[6] He has collaborated with important groups and organizations such as Iran Theater, Tiwall and the music group Dang Show.
Mosayebi's work has gained notability in Iran as well as internationally.
Artwork and Awards
[edit]Mosayebi has worked in theater, film, and photography. He has worked as a photographer for several theatrical plays in Tehran, such as "Mad Girl's Love Song", "Hamlet", and "Lolita Version 12".[7][8] He was the lead photographer of the 2021 film "The Absent Director" by Arvand Dashtaray. Mosayebi has had one solo photo exhibition titled "Wounded Sonata" (2017)[9] and has participated in over 30 group photo exhibitions.
Mosayebi has won several awards, including first place in the Fajr Theater Festival and University Theater Photo Festival in Iran.[10] He has also participated as a judge on the jury for several competitions and festivals, such as the above mentioned University Theater Photo Festival.[11]
