[edit]Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majid is the Honorary Consul and Head of Mission at the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Karachi[1], Pakistan. He is also a businessman, serving as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Omni Group of Companies[2], Pakistan.
Education
[edit]Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majid completed his undergraduate studies at Boston University, where he developed a foundational understanding of business and economics.
Career
[edit]Citibank (1994-2005): Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majid worked at Citibank, where he held various positions. His last role was Vice President of the Financial Institutions (FI) business for Pakistan and Afghanistan. Presently He is serving as Honorary Consul and Head of Mission at the Consulate of Bosina Karachi, Pakistan[3] The consulate in Karachi is not the only diplomatic representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Pakistan. On this page you can also find all other Bosnian Herzegovinian consulates located in Pakistan.[4] The consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Karachi is located at Mian Abdullah Haroon Road.
Omni Group of Companies
[edit]Currently, he is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Omni Group of companies, Omni group is a privately owned industrial conglomerate in Pakistan. This group integrated into several industries which includes Rice, Sugar, Cement, Ethanol, Polypropylene bags, Power, Automation and Aviation. The company employs more than +6,500 satisfied employees and is looking forward to expand its operations internationally.
The Honorary Consulate
[edit]AG Majid is serving as the Honorary Consul General for Bosnia and Herzegovina in Karachi. Bosnia and Herzegovina also has representations in three other cities within Pakistan.
By the time of Pakistan's independence in 1947, Karachi had become a bustling metropolis with slightly under half a million people, and classical and colonial European styled buildings lining the city's thoroughfares. Karachi, the capital of Sindh province was also chosen as the capital of Pakistan. In 1958, the capital of Pakistan was moved from Karachi to Rawalpindi. The foreign embassies in Karachi moved to the newly developed capital Islamabad, near Rawalpindi. There are Consulates and Honorary Consulates as Diplomatic missions in the actual Federal Capital of Pakistan, Karachi.
