Joshua Nelken-Zitser (born 27 February 1996) is a British-German journalist.[1] He has been a Senior Reporter for Business Insider since November 2020.[2] Nelken-Zitser previously worked for LBC, and has contributed to the BBC, The Independent, The Telegraph, WIRED, among other publications. Early life and education

Joshua Zitser was born on 27 February 1996.[1] He studied Politics at the University of Edinburgh, spending a year of his studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.[2] During his time at university, he was an editor for the student publication The Tab.[7] He went on to study for a MA in Broadcast Journalism at City, University of London.[8]

Nelken-Zitser's grandparents were German Holocaust survivors, and he became a naturalised German citizen in 2021.[9] He married his husband in July 2024, taking on the name Nelken-Zitser. [10]

Career

After graduating from university, Nelken-Zitser worked at LBC and was a freelance producer for BBC Radio 2.[8] His work, which focuses on breaking news, US politics, human rights, and refugees, has been nominated for awards, including the Commercial Radio News Award and the Axel Springer Award for Change. In 2024, he was a finalist for the Press Gazette's British Journalism Awards.[13]

He has appeared as a commentator on Times Radio, the BBC, Sky News, NBC, The Young Turks, 5 News, and other outlets.[2] Nelken-Zitser is writing a book.[14]
