Joe & The Shitboys are a Faroese Punk rock band formed in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, consisting of members Fríði Djurhuus, Sigmund Zachariassen, Jónsvein Mikkelsen and Ólavur á Skipagøtu. The band has released two full-length albums.[1]

Career
[edit]The group was formed in 2018 and quickly gained local prominence, winning locally held competition Sement[2] and got awarded "Band of the Year 2019" by Faroese Music Awards.[3] The bands purpose is to confront the common local attitude that is negative and discriminating towards veganism, the LGBT movement, and to change the close-minded way of life on the Faroe Islands.[4]
In 2020, Joe & the Shitboys released their first full-length album titled The Reson for Hardcore Vibes and in 2021 they released their second full-length album The Reson for Hardcore Vibes (Again). In the following years they toured in various European countries and in Canada. In 2022 they played at the Roskilde Festival[5] and Lowlands (festival).[6]
