  • Comment: Things like "in which he presents some of the most amazing adventures in the segment." is unacceptable. I HIGHLY suggest you review the entire page again to remove the tone, as you have not been able to remove all of them after 4 declines. • Comment: Written too promotionally. Also many external link in body in clear violation of WP:EL. Nobody (talk) 11:31, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: There's only one source that mentions the subject in a significant way, which means notability isn't evident. Almost none of the article's contents is referenced in-line as required for biographies of living people. Rkieferbaum (talk) 19:10, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

João Paulo Krajewski (Campinas, April 27th 1980) is a Brazilian cinematographer and biologist with a PhD degree in Ecology at State University of Campinas.[1].

He is a nature and wildlife documentarist, with works as director of photography, cinematographer and research consultant for blue chip films produced by the BBC (The Americas, The Green Planet[2][3], Dogs in the Wild[4], Primates[5], Seven Worlds, One Planet[6], Earth's Great Rivers[7], Nature's Weirdest Events[8] etc), Humble Bee Films (Secret World of Sounds with David Attenborough[9], Life in Colour with David Attenborough[10]), Plimsoll Productions (Animal, Super|Natural), Silverback Films (Parenthood), Off the Fence (New Kids in the Wild), Offspring Films (Earthsounds), among others.

João Paulo is also a presenter of several TV series and the host of segments of TV shows on wildlife and nature in Brazil[11][12] [13] [14] and other countries in Latin America[15][16][17]. He is also the producer of several natural history films and series, such as Florestas Animais/ Misterios de Bosque Tropical[15][18] (5x23' series on rainforests of the world), Vida no Azul[19] (12x23' series on marine life), Noronha spinners[20] (1x47' documentary on spinner dolphins at Fernando de Noronha island), and Histórias Animais[17] (5x47' series on animal evolution).

During his career, João has traveled to more than 60 countries. He is an Amazon expert[21][22][23], having filmed in this forest in Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru. He has also filmed in other Brazilian ecosystems, such as the Pantanal[2], Caatinga, Atlantic Rainforest, Cerrado, the coast and oceanic islands[24][25]

Early life and education

[edit]

João Paulo was born in Campinas, a Brazilian city in the state of São Paulo, where he lived during most of his childhood and adolescence. Passionate about nature and photography since the early stages of his life, he took his BSc. degree in Biological Sciences at State University of Campinas in 2003.[1]

He took his Master's degree in Ecology at the same institution in 2005, studying the biology of reef fishes at Fernando de Noronha archipelago, off North-eastern Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Ivan Sazima[26]

João Paulo also obtained a PhD in Ecology at State University of Campinas, with an one-year internship at James Cook University, studying the ecological feeding of reef fishes in Brazil and Australia, under the supervision of Prof. Fosca Pedini Pereira Leite, and co-supervision of Prof. Sergio R. Floeter, in Brazil, and Prof. Geoff Jones, in Australia[27][28]

João Paulo published more than 30 scientific articles[1][29][30][31][32], four books[33] [34][35][36], four books and wrote dozens of articles for the general public[1], with the aim of bringing his research closer to a wider audience (see Publications).

During his studies and research on marine life, João Paulo became and Dive Master and did more than 5,000 dives around the world, in a variety of conditions and habitats, such as tropical coral reefs, kelp forests, arctic regions, rocky shores, oceanic islands[25] in tropical and temperate seas.
