JioHotstar is a proposed merger of the video on demand platforms Disney+ Hotstar owned by Disney India and JioCinema owned by Reliance Industries, which is expected to launch on 7 November 2024.
Description
[edit]The merger is anticipated to leverage the strength of both platforms, combining sports contents where JioCinema hosted several major leagues such as 2024 Summer Olympics, Paralympic Games, Indian Super League, ICC Men's T20 World Cup, BCCI matches, AFC Asian Cup, etc. and Disney+ Hotstar hosts Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Indian Premier League and also video library where JioCinema already has combined with Peacock and Hotstar hosts nearly all Disney contents.[1][2]
