Jacques Botha or better know as Tros Botha is a former professional rugby player. Born the 22/03/1987 in Kimberley, South Africa. Hight 189cm Weight 125kg
Career: He started his career playing for Northen Cape Highs school from 1998 to 2002, after school he move to Bloemfontein to study and play rugby for the Cheetahs rugby union. Going through the ranks for the under 20 and under 21 structure from 2003-2005. He made his senior debut for the Cheetahs in the Vodacom cup in 2007. In that same year he move to Welkom playing signing with Griffons rugby union in the Currie cup premiere devition, the Griffons won the championship in 2008. 2009 he played for the Tuks (University of Pretoria) in the Varsity cup, scoring a try in a match where the Tuks beat Maties for the first time in Stellenbosch. By the end of 2009 he moved to France, playing for Lannemezan in the ProD 2 (second divition). He played for several pro clubs in the federale 1 like Limoges, Lourdes, Montlucon, Annecy and Montmelian. He retired as a pro player in 2014.
As of 2024 he is the head coach at Illkirch-Graffenstaden rugby club.
