The International Math Championship (IMC) is a competition hosted by CompetifyHub, an organization with the goal of "reducing educational inequality in olympiads"[1] The contest is an international mathematical competition for school students originating in United States. The contest brings hundreds competitors from over 25 countries.
Organization
[edit]The International Math Championship is hosted quarterly, with a Fall (October-November), Winter (December-January), Spring (March-April) and Summer (July-May) IMC contest. The contest has 3 sections, the High School International Championship (Ages 18 and under), the Middle School International Championship (Ages 14 and under) and the Elementary Junior Championship (Ages 11 and under).[2]
Test process has 3 sets of 8 problems each, you will be given 10 minutes to solve each set. You get 1 point per correct answer, final rank will be decided by the highest total points (out of 30). The results are often announced a month after the competition commences.
The test difficulty (especially those in the High School and Middle School level) can be comparable to the American Mathematics Competitions, specifically the AMC 8 and AMC 10 tests.
Philosophy
[edit]The IMC strongly believes that math should be accessible to all[1] , and so maintains the competition through no registration costs. Along with this, they have given free practice tests to other organizations. [3]
