Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Greenman 2 months ago. |

Infotech Development Systems Colleges, Inc., also known as IDS Colleges or IDSC is a private non-sectarian Higher Education Institution in Ligao City, Albay.[1]
History
[edit]Infotech Development Systems Colleges, Inc. (IDSC) was founded by PBGen. Jose A. Roncesvalles (Ret.)[2] and his wife, Dr. Ma. Celia T. Roncesvalles. [3]
In June 2004, PBGen. Roncesvalles initiated the SAPOL Scholarship Foundation, with the assistance of the Samahang APO ng Ligao, of which he is a member. The foundation was created to support underprivileged high school students in the City.
In June 2007, the founders decided to establish a training institution to prepare for the graduation of the first batch of high school scholars, aiming to enhance their future prospects through programs offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).[4]
The Infotech Institute of the Arts and Science (Infotech-IAS), the precursor to IDSC, began offering free English Proficiency classes and a finishing course for Call Center Agents from December 2007 to May 2008. Classes were conducted in a rented facility on Crespo St., Guilid, Ligao City. By June 2008, with a temporary permit to offer courses in Hotel and Restaurant Services, Computer Programming, and Computer Hardware Servicing, the institution began accepting enrollees for the 2008-2009 school year.
In April 2008, construction commenced on a five-story IDSC building on a newly acquired lot at Natera St., Dunao, Ligao City. The school officially relocated to its current campus upon the completion of the building’s ground and second floors in October 2008. The new facility includes fourteen air-conditioned classrooms, a Computer Laboratory, a Hospitality Management Laboratory, a Library, an Audio-Visual Room with a seating capacity of 200, a well-equipped Medical Clinic, a Science Laboratory, and a Mock Hotel.
On June 22, 2009, Infotech Development Systems Colleges, Inc. was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission [5]as a non-stock, non-profit corporation, authorized to operate as an educational institution offering technical-vocational and tertiary courses under TESDA and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The first completion ceremony took place on April 30, 2010, at the IDSC campus, where eighty-five students completed all requirements set by TESDA. Nineteen students received certificates for Computer Programming, and twenty-five for Hotel and Restaurant Services.[6]
In May 2010, IDSC appointed Dr. Ofelia S. Vega as its first president. Her initial responsibility was to facilitate the opening of new courses under CHED. By January 2014, IDSC received recognition for several programs, including Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Education (majors in English and Mathematics), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (majors in Human Resources Development Management and Marketing Management), Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Associate in Computer Technology.[7]
In June 2012, IDSC introduced additional programs: Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, and Bachelor of Science in Travel Management. All nine courses offered by IDSC are recognized by CHED.
In the school year 2016-2017, IDSC partnered with the Department of Education to implement a Senior High School program[8], which includes both Academic and Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) tracks. The academic tracks offered comprise Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and General Academic Strand (GAS). The TVL track includes Home Economics (HE) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).[9]
The Senior High School celebrated its first graduation on April 7, 2018.
