From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) serves as a professional organization for Interventional Radiologists in India. Established in 1997 with 28 members, it aims to promote the field and support its practitioners. It plays a proactive role in organizing a range of academic activities for its members, including conferences, seminars, and ongoing medical education.[1] Interventional Radiology is a highly specialized branch of medicine that focuses on the treatment of various medical conditions using percutaneous techniques, guided by imaging modalities such as fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound (US). A broad range of medical conditions can be evaluated and managed using minimally invasive techniques guided by imaging. Interventional radiologists possess expertise in diagnostic imaging and the implementation of radiation safety measures. Continuous advancements and innovations in new treatments, devices, and procedures are currently underway. [2] ISVIR publishes its own journal, titled the Journal of Clinical Interventional Radiology.[3]
