Ilamo is a community located in Ikole Local government area in Ekiti State of Nigeria. The town is predominantly inhabited by the Ekiti people, who are part of the Yoruba ethnic group in southwestern Nigeria.[1][2] The area of Ilamo encompasses the Ojuju Rock and its surrounding areas, sharing borders with the neighboring communities of Usin, Asin, Isaba, and Ikole.[3]

The earliest settlers of Ilamo initially established themselves at Osan, Oke-Ilamo, near the Itajuju (Ojuju Rock) area. Over time, the settlement expanded and evolved into a populous village.[4]

The traditional ruler of Ilamo holds the title of Alamo of Ilamo Ekiti. The current Alamo, Oba Adebayo Paul Awoseyila, was appointed on March 26, 2003.[5][6][7][8]

Ilamo’s economy is primarily agricultural, with residents cultivating food crops like yams and cassava, as well as cash crops such as cocoa and kola nuts. The community has basic infrastructure, including schools, medical facilities, and religious centers.[1]

Ilamo experiences hot, muggy dry seasons and warm, overcast wet seasons, with temperatures ranging from 62°F to 90°F throughout the year.[1]
