Hanson Baliruno is a Ugandan Singer-songwriter, performing and recording artiste. He has won numerous awards at the African Crown International Music Awards in Sweden including artiste of the year.
Early life
[edit]Baliruno was born in Nsambya, Kampala on 24 November 1988 to Mrs Faith Nabwanuka . He grew up in a musical family, of the late Belton Sserunjogi Kasubi . By his early teenage years, he was the lead singer in his church gospel choir. He attended Kasubi Church of God Primary School for his Primary Education and later joined Kasubi Church of God High School, for his secondary education. In 2013, Hanson moved to Stockholm, Sweden where he attended the Södermalms Church Bible School to study Theology. Today, he holds a Music, Theatre acting and Theology diploma.
Musical career
[edit]Hanson recorded his first song, titled Luno Olunaku at the age of 12. The track paved way for his gospel musical path and attracted the attention of renowned gospel singer Judith Babirye, who signed him to her band that later boosted his music career. He then started started a solo career while still with Babirye's band and soon started penetrating in international market.
In 2013, he moved to Europe and settled in Stockholm, Sweden, from where he wrote a song called Love Letter and the track was released on the New Year's Day of 2014, and by April 2014 the song had been voted best song of the summer in Scandinavian countries including Sweden and also signed by 100 SONGS, a record label that signs only singles. He also formed and led a gospel choir for over 10 years called Kasubi high school choir, that later reformed into Global voices choir that has performed in Europe mainly Denmark, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
The following year, he released another track, "follow follow". The track's music video featured the global sensational dancers The Ghetto Kids of Uganda. Hanson's Follow Follow song has got over 2 million views on YouTube.
In his first world tour, Hanson performed in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Denmark, (Germany), Netherlands, Finland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, and Nepal.
Over the years, Hanson has worked with numerous record and managing companies including; Extensive Music Sweden AB, Nigerian – Dominic Emene African music promoter 100 SONGS Sweden, A&R Mathias Wachtmeister (Warner Music Sweden), Selim Mouhoubi Productions (France), Thomas Gylling (Mosquito Events, Sweden), (Afrodance Sweden Silverbird AB).
