Hakushi Hasegawa (Japanese: 長谷川白紙, Hepburn: Hasegawa Hakushi, born December 21, 1998)[1] is a Japanese singer-songwriter born in Tokyo, Japan.[2] After releasing music on Soundcloud in 2016,[6] they made their major debut upon the release of their first EP, iPhone Six Plus, through Maltine Records.[4] They identify as nonbinary and use they/them pronouns. [7]

Early life and career

Hakushi Hasegawa was born in Tokyo, Japan on December 21, 1998.[1][2] They began taking piano lessons at a young age and later on began to discuss electronic music in online chatrooms, being introduced to artists such as Nyolfen.[8] On August 31, 2016, Hakushi would release their debut single Hadairo No Kawa (肌色の川, Flesh Colored River) on Soundcloud,[6] which would go viral in Japan, grabbing the attention of the founder of Maltine Records, Tomohiro Konuta, who would sign them to the label.

On October 16, 2017, Hakushi would release their debut EP, iPhone Six Plus, through Maltine Records.
