Gino's Pizzeria

Gino's Pizza, officially selling as Gino's Pizza CDN Inc, is a Canadian Pizza Chain franchise with locations based around the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario. Founded in 1981 by Noele Murano in Oakvile, the company has grown around South-Western Ontario and now has over 100 locations.

First location

The Franchising location was opened in 1981 Inside the Hopedale Mall, at 1515 Rebecca St, in Oakville,Ontario. The original logo was of "Chef Gino", bearing the slogan, "A little bite of Italy". The location quickly gained popularity, leading to the expanding franchise via an agreement with another company, known as 241 Pizza. This contract ended in 1997, when 241 Pizza was sold off to Afton Food Groups Inc.

World Record Pizza

Gino's Pizza has received 2 world records, which are both for the world's longest pizza.

1998: Achieved World's Longest Pizza record at 160 University Avenue in Waterloo, Ontario. The pizza was measured at 176 feet, 2 inches.
1999: Broke their own record at 860 Chemong Road, Peterborough. The pizza was measured at 217 feet, 10 inches.]

However, this record has since been broken. The current record holder for the world's longest pizza measures 6,333 feet 3.60 inches,is almost 2 kilometers long, and was achieved by John Arena (USA), and Italforni (Italy), as well as multiple companies. This was achieved in Fontana, California, USA, on 10 June 2017.
