The Fujifilm X100VI is another camera from the Fujifilm X100 series compact cameras with fixed prime lenses, which aims to connect vintage film aesthetic style and combine it with modern features. It was Launched by Fujifilm in February 2024. It is follower of successful Fujifilm X100V. It still has the same key features that made the Fujifilm X100V nearly unpurchasable couple of years after release but expand on them with newer technology.[1][2][3]

The Fujifilm was announced on start of February 2024(4) and launched on February 28 2024(4). The initial price was set at US$1,599. Limited edition version also released to celebrate 90th anniversary. Only 1934 limited units worldwide. After launch, both versions went instantly out of stock. (2,3,4)[2][3][4]

Features

The Fujifilm X100VI come with fixed FUJINON 23 mm f/2 ASPH II lens which is equivalent to 35 mm field of view. It also features built-in Flash and supports external flash via hot shoe.[1][3][5]

The Fujifilm X100VI has 40.2-megapixel back-side illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. The camera is powered by X-Processor 5, which has new functions, including AI-based subject detection for autofocus. The camera also has five-axis IBIS system which offers up to 6 stops of stabilization. It also has same Digital Teleconverter and Internal ND as its predecessor Fujifilm X100V. [1][3][5]

The Fujifilm X100VI maximum sensitivity if ISO is 12 800 (expandable to ISO 51 200 and down to ISO 125 (expandable to 64).[5]

Shutter

The X100VI has shutter speed range of 15 sec to 1/4000 sec and electronic shutter which extends this range up to 1/180000. It features continuous drive up to 11 frames per second. [4][5]

Focus

The Fujifilm X100VI has combination of the X-Trans 5 HR Sensor and X-Processor 5. That means it has enhanced deep learning subject recognition and focus tracking on both stills and movie modes. It can detect animals, birds, cars, trains, drones and more.[4][5][6]

Video

The X100VI offers up to 6.2K/30p resolution in 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording. Other formats are DCI4K HQ (17:9) and 4K HQ (16:9) at 30p, or DCI4K (17:9) and 4K (16:9) at 60p. It also can do slow-motion in Full HD at 240 FPS with HEVC/H.25, Stereo sound 24bit / 48KHz sampling.[1][4][5][6]

Lens

It maintains the same lens as Fujifilm X100V. It is 35 mm (1.4 in) full-frame equivalent with maximum f/2.0 aperture. It offers close focus at 10cm from a subject. It is compatible with legacy WCL/TCL conversion lenses, which can transform the lens into 24 or 50 mm (0.94 or 1.97 in) full-frame equivalent.[2][4][5]

Film simulations

The Fujifilm X100VI offers 20 different film simulation modes to replicate look of film stock from the past. It offers from Classic Monochrome to brand new Reala Ace.[2]

The Fujifilm X100VI weighs 474g including battery and memory card and its dimensions are 5.0 in × 2.9 in × 2.1 in (127 mm × 74 mm × 53 mm). It has hybrid viewfinder that combines optical viewfinder and an electronic viewfinder which displays 3.69 million dots. It features a two-way tilting 3.0 in (7.6 cm) 1.62 m (5.3 ft)-dot LCD touchscreen. [2][4][5][6]
