Feminist Land Art Retreat (FLAR) is a conceptual art project originating from Vancouver created by Nicole Ondre and Vanessa Disler. [1] The project was initiated in 2010 through the use of posters of an advertisement for a fictional land art retreat taking place over 2010 Labour Day weekend in the Elaho Valley of British Columbia. [2][3] This initial poster featured an image of Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty edited to resemble the female reproductive system. [3] Initially, FLAR put themselves across through annual posters continuing to advertise this fictional retreat that included iconography from conceptual art, feminist art, and other design disciplines[1][3].
