Founded in 2008 by Petr Valov and Igor Lychagov,[1] the company is headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus.[2] Exness serves clients across multiple regions and adheres to regulations in various jurisdictions.

History

[edit]

Exness was founded in 2008 by a group of finance and technology professionals. Initially headquartered in Russia, the company relocated to Limassol, Cyprus, in 2014. Limassol is recognized as a hub for financial services,[3] housing several major players in the online trading industry.

In 2015, Exness expanded its brand visibility by becoming a sponsor of the Infinity Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team.[4][5][6][7] In 2017, company pursued endorsement agreement with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.[8][9][10][11][12] In 2024, Exness further increased its visibility through a sponsorship agreement with Spain's La Liga.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]

Operations

[edit]

Exness provides access to various financial markets, including commodities and stocks. The company offers trading on the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms, which are widely used within the industry. Exness also offers its proprietary mobile trading application, providing users with options depending on their trading preferences.

Licenses and Regulations

[edit]

Exness operates under several regulatory bodies, ensuring compliances with international financial regulations. These include the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)[21] , the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom[22] , and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) in South Africa[23] The company is also licensed by regulatory authorities in Seychelles,[24] Curacao,[25] and other jurisdictions.[26]

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

[edit]

Exness has actively contributed to the communities where it operates, particularly in Cyprus.[27] During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company donated over 1 million euro[28] to local relief efforts[29] and supported other causes, such as environmental initiatives[30] and educational[31] programs.[32]

Controversies

[edit]

Exness has maintained a policy of not disclosing detailed financial data. While this has raised questions about transparency, the company has not been involved in any significant legal disputes or controversies
