EPSI Rating Group is a group of companies conducting customer satisfaction research in Europe. Founded in 1999, EPSI Rating Group predominantly do research in the Nordic countries, Baltic states and the United Kingdom, but also do research activities in other European countries. The group consists of Svenskt Kvalitetsindex AB.[1], EPSI Rating Danmark ApS[2], EPSI Rating Norge[3] and EPSI Rating Finland[4].[5]
The theoretical basis of the studies is the EPSI rating model, which is a model for comparable Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).[6]
History
[edit]EPSI Rating Group originated from a research project in the late 1980s at Stockholm School of Economics.[7] The project's goal was to develop models for measuring and analyzing customer satisfaction across different sectors. Based on the results of a study initiated by the EU Commission in 1998-1999, the initiative was subsequently formally launched under the name EPSI (Extended Performance Satisfaction Index)[8]
Ownership
[edit]EPSI Rating Group operates under the ownership of SIQ, the Swedish Institute for Quality.[9] SIQ is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 with the support of the Swedish Government and the members association consisting of private companies, academic institutions and the public sector. SIQ is the representative of ASQ (American Society for Quality) in Sweden and the national partner of EFQM – European Foundation for Quality Management.[10]
