[edit]Dr. Athira Krishnan, born on April 4, 1990, in Kerala, India, is a poet, author, and media director. She completed her education at Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeedam in Vallikavu, Kerala, and began her writing journey during her school days.[1] Her works, include poetry like Ente Ezhuthammaykk and P. K. Ninakku Vendi, and non-fiction titles such as Karikondoru Kadha Parayam and Lakshmeebhavam.[2] Her writings are influenced by personal experiences, cultural roots, and the stories of everyday life.[3]
Early Life and Writing Journey
[edit]Dr. Athira Krishnan was born on 4 April 1990 to Radhakrishna Pillai and Sheejarani in Kerala, India. She discovered her passion for writing during her school days at Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeedam, Vallikavu.[1] Encouraged by her teachers, she started penning poems and essays.[1]
Her talent gained recognition through school competitions, laying the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to literature.[1]

Ente Ezhuthammaykk (2009)
[edit]Dr. Athira Krishnan’s debut book, "Ente Ezhuthammaykku", is a collection of poetry and a short story.[1] Published under the banner of Yuvamela Publications during her time at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, this book includes around 30 poems and one short story.[1]
Susan (2023)
[edit]Dr. Athira Krishnan's fifth book, "Susan", launched at the 2023 Sharjah International Book Festival, unveils the different facets of a strong woman.[4] The character of Susan reflects the realities and struggles of expatriate life while also becoming a symbol for every expatriate woman.[4]
Through her own media platform, Marhaba Media, Athira adapted "Susan" into a short film, which helped the story gain even more attention among viewers.[6]
Lakshmeebhavam (2024)
[edit]In November 2024, Dr. Athira Krishnan's sixth book, "Lakshmibhavam", was launched at the Sharjah International Book Fair. This work is based on the life of Lakshmi Menon, the wife of Mithun Ramesh, a renowned actor and RJ at Hit FM.[3][2][5]
The book delves into various facets of Lakshmi's life, while also exploring the urgent complexities of modern lifestyles and social media.[3][2]

[edit]In 2019, Dr. Athira Krishnan became a Guinness World Record holder, participating in the event for the most authors signing their own book simultaneously (1,502 authors) at the Sharjah International Book Fair in the UAE on 7 November 2019[7][8].
IIMK Excellence in Media and Communication Award
[edit]In 2023, Dr. Athira Krishnan was awarded the Excellence in Media and Communication Award in honor of her outstanding performance by the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode.
