Don Macks Green (born March 1, 1941) is an American author, public speaker, former bank president, and the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, located in Wise, Virginia. He has held this position since 2000. The foundation was founded in 1963 by W. Clement Stone and Napoleon Hill to preserve Hill's legacy and share his principles of success.
Early life
[edit]Green was born in 1941 in Stratton, Virginia. His father was a coal miner. Green built a backyard zoo during his high school years to contribute to his family's income.
Education
[edit]Green graduated from Clinch Valley College (now UVA Wise) with a two-year degree, followed by a BA in Accounting and Business from East Tennessee State University. He furthered his education in banking at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
Career
[edit]Green started his career as a debt collector and later worked in banking, becoming the president of Black Diamond Bank at age 41. In 2000, he was appointed as the Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
Personal life
[edit]Green was married to Phyllis Ann Flanary Green until her death in 2015. They had one daughter, Donna. [1]
