From December 11 2023 till December 8 2024, the Diocese of Joliet-in-Illinois, celebrated it's 75th anniversary. Founded on December 11, 1948 by Pope Pius XII, it celebrated 75 years in 2023. The celebration was innaugurated by Bishop Ronald Hicks. During this several special liturgies were celebrated to mark the momentous occasion.[1]
For this celebration a special prayer card was made, sent to parished throughout the Diocese. As well a special Responsorial Psalm was written by Ellen Coman, Director of Sacred Music at St. Irene Parish in Warrenville. As well special apearel (t-shirts) were made for purchase by people. Special prints for bulitiens and social media are avaliable from the Diocese's website. Lesson Plans for school and religous education was also avaliable. Speical peisodes of the Diocese's podcast was made. A special Calendar was made for the 2024 year in English and Spanish, avaliable at each parish in the diocese.[1]
