Delainey Hayles (born 10 March 1999) is a British actress. She is known for her theatre work on the West End and her role in the AMC series Interview with the Vampire (2024).
Early life and education
[edit]Hayles attended the BRIT School.[1]
Career
[edit]In 2018, with a group of recent BRIT School graduates for the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Bridge Company, Hayles appeared in the play Sticky at Southwark Playhouse.[1]
Hayles made her television debut with a guest appearance in an episode of the 2021 ITV drama Too Close. She had a brief recurring role in the BBC One medical soap opera Holby City as Russ Faber's (Simon Slater) daughter Billie.[2][3] In 2022, Hayles starred as Lucy Pevensie in the stage adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, marking her West End debut.[4][5]
Shortly after the play's run finished, Hayles successfully auditioned for the second season of the AMC+ adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, taking over the role of Claudia from Bailey Bass.[6] Despite joining the production close to the start of filming, Hayles credits the cast and crew, particularly co-star Jacob Anderson, with creating a welcoming and supportive environment on set.[7][8] Several early reviews of season 2, which aired in 2024,[9][10] highlighted Hayle's performance and praised her portrayal of Claudia.[11][12][13]
