Deirdre Khoo (born 1 April 1998) is a Singaporean singer and actor who is active as a musical theatre performer in Australia. She played the roles of Janet Weiss in the 50th Anniversary Australian Tour of The Rocky Horror Show and Anne Boleyn in SIX (musical) Australia..[1][2] }}
Early life
[edit]Born in Singapore, Khoo moved to Perth in 2015 and graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA)[3] with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre) in early 2021. Khoo was cast in Once (musical) by Darlinghurst Theatre Company right after leaving drama school, in which she played Ex-Girlfriend[4]
Career
[edit]Khoo landed the role of Janet Weiss in "The Rocky Horror Show"[1] in the 50th Anniversarty Australian Tour 2023/24, and was the first Asian to play this role in a Western production of the show.
Khoo appeared in Old Vic's A Christmas Carol in Australia end of 2023, playing the role of Jess[5] alongside Owen Teale as Scrooge. She also understudied Belle and Little Fan.
Khoo was cast as Anne Boleyn in the Australian Revival Tour of SIX (musical) 2024.
