Dead Doctors Club are a band formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2023. The band consists of only one member, Michael Wedding (lead vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard).
Wedding, who created the band originally as a solo project in order to maintain full creative control of his music, released his first song, titled "Monticello (Hey Emerson!)", on May 12, 2024 to start his music project. Dead Doctors Club has one song published.
History
[edit]Slump Monkey
[edit]Previous to Dead Doctors Club, Wedding formed a rock band based in Cincinnati with his friends, Jason Bradshaw Jr. (lead vocals, drums) and Brendan Baker (bass), called Slump Monkey. Slump Monkey released an EP with three songs on October 17, 2021, titled "Slump". This EP consisted of songs (I Can't) Look You in the Eyes, Blues (Muffin's Song), and Don't Stay a While. Wedding had only one song on this EP, Don't Stay a While. The other songs were written by Jason Bradshaw. All songs were produced by Bradshaw. Baker did not participate in any of the recordings of Slump. The band is on an indefinite hiatus since Bradshaw moved to Atlanta and is pursuing his own musical endeavors, Baker enlisted in the military, and Wedding is pursuing his own musical endeavors as well.

Musical Style and Influences
[edit]Dead Doctors Club has been described as new-wave, indie pop, indie rock, indie folk. Specific artists that Dead Doctors Club has been compared to consists of The Cure, Foo Fighters, Elliot Smith, and Mac DeMarco. Michael Wedding has acknowledged a few of his musical influences: "I grew to love The Beatles and I love Queen... Nirvana and Foo Fighters... it's all because I've grown to love all these artists and so that's kind of why I play the music that I play."[1]
