Draft:Darya-e-Latafat

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Darya-e-Latafat (Urdu: دریائے لطافت;) by Insha Allah Khan and Mirza Muhammad Hassan Qateel in Persian is the first ever book written on grammar of Urdu by a native scholar.[1][2][3] Before this only European scholars had written about grammar of Urdu in Dutch, English and Latin. In 1807 or 1808 Insha and Qateel penned it down in Persian, while Maulvi Abdul Haq published its first Urdu edition in 1916.
