Rtn Daniel Ruhweza is a Ugandan and UK trained Attorney and Senior Lecturer at Law https://law.mak.ac.ug/dr-daniel-r-ruhweza-2/ . He is a Commonwealth Scholar and DFID Scholar and Practitioner of the Law having enrolled on the list of Advocate of the High Court of Uganda in October 2003.

Daniel is on a mission to bring transformation to the nation of Uganda by raising a generation of 10,000,000 young people who honour God, their families and the nation. EDUCATION
Daniel attended Busoga College Mwiri https://mwiri.sc.ug between 1990 and 1996. This School has famous Alumni such as Hon Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Milton Obote, Prof Nawangwe and others
At Mwiri, he was allocated Wako house where he served as Junior Prefect and later Head Prefect. At Mwiri, he was a member of the Scouting, Wildlife, Red Cross and Scripture Union Clubs amongst others. As Head Prefect, he started the Uganda Secondary Schools Prefects Club which still exists today.
Daniel obtained his Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees from Makerere University https://law.mak.ac.ug , the University of Cambridge and the University of Kent at Canterbury in England, respectively. He also received a Higher diploma in Peace and Security from Uppsala University in Sweden as well as a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre of Uganda.

Daniel is the recipient of various awards such as Commonwealth Scholarship by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission to read for a PHD in Law at the University of Kent at Canterbury; Shared Commonwealth Cambridge Trust and DFID Scholarship to read for the LLM in the University of Cambridge (2002-2003); Uganda Government’s Scholarship to read for the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (2000-2001); Chief Justice’s Prize for Academic Excellence (May 2002); Attorney General’s Prize for Academic Excellence (May 2002); President Uganda Law Society Award for Academic excellence (2000)

Together with 8 other Law Don's, Dr Ruhweza was one of the Amicus Curiae in the Presidential Election Petition 2016 https://ulii.org/akn/ug/judgment/ugsc/2016/4/eng@2016-08-26 which led to significant reforms in the electoral process of Uganda. He is also a member of the Network of Public Interest Lawyers of Uganda https://netpil.org who are at the helm of advocating for and mitigating on various issues of the Rule of Law, including The Prevention of Torture Act https://ulii.org/akn/ug/act/2012/3/eng@2012-09-18 .
