DXRV-TV (channel 11) is a television station in Iligan City, Philippines, airing programming from GMA Manila and GMA Davao. Owned and operated by the network's namesake corporate parent, the station maintains a hybrid analog/digital transmitter facilities are located at Circumferencial Road, Brgy. Del Carmen, Iligan.
History
[edit]In 1977, DXRV-TV was opened by GMA Network's predecessor Republic Broadcasting System, and was the first television station in Lanao del Norte. The station then began on VHF channel 12. At that time, DXRV-TV's introduction of the GMA Radio-Television Arts ident aside from sporting a light blue square logo with the network name in white, also had a circle 12 logo in use, in its final years the blue circle 12 logo used was similar to those used by the ABC in some United States cities and later used the rainbow colors of red, yellow, green and blue stripes.
On April 30, 1992, as part of GMA's expansion of coverage, DXRV-TV carried a introduce of the Rainbow Satellite Network identification in conjuction with the debut of satellite transmissions to the Surigao del Norte bringing live broadcasts of national and foreign programming, with the utilizes a new logo to correspond with the rebranding and a satellite-beaming rainbow in a multicolored striped based on a traditional scheme of red, orange, green, yellow, blue, indigo and violet, with GMA in a metallic form uses a San Serif Century Gothic Extra Bold and analogous gloominess of indigo as its fonts in the letters.
In 1993, GMA eventually transferred the station's VHF frequency from channel 12 to the current channel 11.
On February 5, 2013, when GMA Northern Mindanao transferred to Channel 35, GMA Iligan began simulcasting its local newscast Testigo Northern Mindanao, including the public affairs program Northern Mindanao Isyu Karon and documentary program Isyu ug Istorya.[1][2]
This was on August 28, 2017, when GMA Iligan was reassigned to form the network's Mindanao super region following the newly launched of GMA Regional TV division. As part of the new development, it began to co-producing and simulcasting the first ever Mindanao-wide newscast One Mindanao.
On May 29, 2023, GMA Iligan commenced its ISDB-T digital test broadcast on UHF Channel 33 covering Iligan City and the provinces of Lanao del Norte.
