DNA is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language crime action drama film directed by Nelson Venkatesan and co-written along with Athisha Vino.[1] The film stars Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles, alongside Balaji Sakthivel and Ramesh Thilak in important roles.[2] The film is bankrolled by Jayanthi Ambethkumar and S. Ambethkumar under their Olympia Movies banner.[3] The technical crew consists of cinematographer Parthiban, editor VJ Sabu Joseph, and stunt director Don Ashok.[4] The background is scored by Ghibran Vaibodha, while the soundtrack comprising of five songs is composed by five music composers, Sathyaprakash, Sreekanth Hariharan, Pravin Saivi, Sahi Siva and Anal Akash.[5]

[edit]On 11 October 2023, an upcoming crime drama project titled DNA was launched in Chennai, directed by Nelson Venkatesan who earlier directed Oru Naal Koothu (2016), Monster (2019) and Farhana (2023)[6] and co-written by Nelson along with Athisha Vino.[1] The film stars Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles, alongside Balaji Sakthivel and Ramesh Thilak in important roles.[7] The film is bankrolled by Jayanthi Ambethkumar and S. Ambethkumar under their Olympia Movies banner.[3][8] The technical crew consists of cinematographer Parthiban, editor VJ Sabu Joseph, and stunt director Don Ashok.[9]
Filming
[edit]Principal photography began in Chennai on 11 October 2023 after a formal inaugural ceremony[10] while, the entire shooting was planned to be done in areas around Chennai.[11] The entire filming got wrapped on 20 July 2024.[12][13]
Post-production
[edit]The makers made an announcement regarding the commencement of dubbing process on 22 June 2024.[14][15]
Music
[edit]The background is scored by Ghibran Vaibodha,[16] while the soundtrack comprising of five songs is composed by five music composers, Sathyaprakash, Sreekanth Hariharan, Pravin Saivi, Sahi Siva and Anal Akash.[5] The first single "Kanne Kanave" composed by Sreekanth Hariharan was released on 13 November 2024.[17][18]
