The following is a list of unproduced Chuck Jones projects in roughly chronological order. During his long career, Chuck Jones worked on a number of animated projects that never progressed past the pre production phase.
Mighty Hunters series
[edit]In 1938, Chuck Jones directed Mighty Hunters. A short film adaptation of James Swinnerton's comic strip Canyon Kiddies. The short was hoped to be the first in a series, but lukewarm reception resulted in it being cancelled[1]
The Dover Boys at Piminto University Sequel
[edit]In 1945, Jones drew concept art for a sequel to his 1942 short The Dover Boys at Piminto University.[2]
Trooper Droopy
[edit]In 1962, when Jones was directing Tom and Jerry shorts for MGM, he put together a storyboard for a Droopy short he was scheduled direct, entitled Trooper Droopy. One of the early scenes shows the intrepid trooper going through the North Woods. The camera pulls back to reveal Droopy riding a unicycle. He turns to the audience and says, "I know it's degrading but I save a lot of hay." This was later discovered Jones' files.[3]
Crawford TV pilot
[edit]In 1969, Jones drafted a complete storyboard for a planned Crawford TV pilot.[4]
The Chronicles of Narnia
[edit]Between the 1960s & 1970s, Jones drew concept art for a potential animated film adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis.[5]
Bugs and Daffy ...In Concert?
[edit]In 1979, Jones drafted storyboards for an unproduced television animated special entitled "Bugs and Daffy ...In Concert?".[6]
