Renowned Italian film and music critic, writer, screenwriter and translator. Sandra Bordigoni is best known as the first Italian female rock correspondent from California. After her debut at the end of the Seventies as a presenter of musical programs in some of the newly founded free Italian radio stations, she moved to California in the mid Eighties and began to contribute concert reviews, interviews and photos to some of the most important Italian music magazines like CIAO 2001, MUSIC&ARTS, MUCCHIO SELVAGGIO and ROCKISSIMO. She then joined the Motion Pictures Association of America and began working also as a film critic for the same publications. Having returned to Italy, at the beginning of the Nineties, she baceme a regular contributor for many Italian newspapers and magazines including PANORAMA, ELLE, CIAK, ANNA, IL SABATO, CINECRITICA and L'UNITA ' and for TEMPI MODERNI, one of the first Italian on line film magazines. From Italy she also began to write for the Australian magazine URBAN CINEFILE. After a collaboration of several years with the press office of the Venice Biennale, she was the artistic director of various film festivals, including the first edition of the Isola del Cinema of Rome, the first edition of the Tavolara Festival, two editions of the Film Festival of Vieste together with Antonio Falduto, and was one of the curators of the New Zealnd short film selection for the Locarno Festival. In the year 2000 she published the book L'AUSTRALIA SUL GRANDE SCHERMO (ed. Le Mani), a compendium of Australian cinema from the beginning to the end of the nineties, with film profiles and interviews with actors, directors, screenwriters and producers from the antipodes. From the meeting with the director Richard Lowenstein and the writer John Birmingham who were working on the screenplay of the film HE DIED WITH A FELAFEL IN HIS HANDS, the idea of translating the novel of the same name into Italian was born. The novel, which was first published by Edizioni Theoria, was then acquired by Fandango Libri (ISBN 9788860445926), quickly becoming a best seller. Subsequently, for UNIVERSAL and WORKING TITLE, she translated the working diary of the film NANNY McPHEE AND THE BIG BANG written by Emma Thompson. Since 1996 she has been one of the Italian correspondents of the Australian network SBS. In 2024 she published the novel WITH YOUR PANDA?!? (ISBN 9798882918476)
