Buddhafield UK is a charity, events organiser and community of Buddhists involved with the Triratna Buddhist Community. They run a variety of events including retreats focused around the teaching and practice of Buddhism and Buddhist meditation. They run the alcohol and drug free[1][2][3]Buddhafield Festival[4]and have the Buddhafield Cafe,[5] which goes to festivals like Glastonbury, Sunrise and The Green Gathering. They also hold meditation retreat camps across the South of England[6] and also the Green Earth Awakening Camp[7] and care for their own land.

Buddhafield UK is a totally different and unrelated organisation to Buddhafield(cult) in the USA.

History

[edit]

The seeds of Buddhafield were originally planted by a group of friends in the early 1990's at Glastonbury Festival when they attended with a Buddhist meditation marquee and The Green Buddha Cafe.[8]
